FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1How do I get started with Art & Cosmetic Dental Lab or send a case?

You can send in a case by visiting the Doctor portal and following the instructions.

2What is the average time it takes for a denture to be repaired?

Next day service is available for broken dentures or dentures that need teeth added. If the case is picked up before 4 pm, it will be returned by 3 pm the next day.

3What should I do if a patient needs a crown but has a difficult shade?

Just let us know and we will arrange for the patient to be in the lab for a custom shade. If the color is still off, we can perform an in-lab custom stain.

4We are bleaching our patients. When should the shade be taken?

It's usually best to let the teeth' shade "set" for about 2 weeks before taking their final shade.

5Do you have a technician available to assist me in planning treatment for my complicated denture case?

In that case, Rahim can come to your office to discuss the treatment step by step if you call us ahead of time.

6Is it possible to repair a Valplast partial denture?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. The Valplast partial does not meet our standards due to the extensive work required to repair it.

7It is extremely difficult to satisfy my patient because she is extremely picky. Would you be able to help?

The Art & Cosmetic Dental Lab is a place where patients care more about their looks than anywhere else. Schedule a consultation with our laboratory technician for your patient if you wish. As part of the occlusion and dentition evaluation, the shade of the patient is taken, material choices are discussed.

8What company makes your restorations?

Of course, we do! All of our products are manufactured in the United States, including both the design and fabrication of all restorations.

9Do you have a turnaround time?

Fix restorations generally take seven business days in the lab and removable procedures could take from the next day to 4-5 days, depending on the step. The entire process of creating a removable one may take up to two weeks.

10Does your company offer a RUSH service for special cases, and is there a fee involved?

As we know, there are sometimes extenuating circumstances that require a case to be rushed, and we do everything in our power to accommodate those cases.

Consequently, since we will have to disrupt the intricate schedule of our normal case flow, often requiring our technicians to work overtime and outside of normal business hours, there is a rush fee for these cases. The rush fee will be quoted when the case is called in and pre-scheduled.

11I have a crown under a partial denture. How should I send it a case?

The most common question we receive is this one; please include the following to ensure the best results.

1- Arch of the prep with partial in place (to ensure correct placement of the partial denture on the arch).

2- Arch of the prep without the partial (for accurate margin placement on the prep)

3- Opposing

4- If the partial remains in the lab during the whole fabrication process, bite registration with the partial.

5- If the partial returns to the patient the same day, bite registration without it.

12Currently, I am a patient whose denture needs fixing. Is it possible to get it repaired at your lab?

Unfortunately, we cannot see patients without a dentist's permission. As a rule of law, a dental laboratory cannot treat patients without the full supervision of a dentist. If you do not have a dentist, we can refer you to one. Please call our office during our regular business hours.
